What the parlour is
The Omenator, found at theomenator.com, is a free social casino. That means games with the rhythm of casino play – a fruit-machine style cabinet, a higher-or-lower card game, a pick-three game and a prize-wheel style spinner – played entirely with pretend coins. You cannot pay us anything, and we cannot pay you anything. The coins are a way of keeping score, nothing more.
We picked the Victorian fortune-teller as our theme because it is theatrical and faintly ridiculous: velvet, brass, candle smoke and a lady in a shawl who claims to know your future. We have kept the velvet and the brass, and dropped the claim.
What it will never be
- A gambling site. No stakes of real value, no payouts of real value, no deposit page hiding round the corner.
- A shop. There are no coin bundles, no premium tiers and no adverts.
- A soothsayer. Results are random. None of them means anything about you.
- A feeder for something else. We are not affiliated with, paid by or linked to any gambling operator, and we do not send visitors to one.
Who it is for
Adults aged 18 and over in the United Kingdom who want a few minutes of something pleasant to look at and mildly suspenseful to play. If you are under 18, the site is not for you, and we ask on your first visit. If you find that even pretend play is pulling at you more than you would like, our Play well page lists free, confidential help.
How it is made
The site is deliberately light. There are no accounts on a server, no tracking scripts and no third-party code. The games run in your browser, keep your nickname and coins in your browser’s own storage, and print their exact odds on every page. You can read how that works on How the omens work.
Getting in touch
The parlour has one postbox: hello@theomenator.com. Write to it with questions, accessibility problems, mistakes you have spotted or kind words. More detail is on the contact page.
